Receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist completes ones initiation into the Catholic Church. In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the confirmed is enriched for a life of discipleship by the gift of the Holy Spirit conferred by the laying on of hands and anointing with chrism by the Bishop. Children in the Third Grade that have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation must be enrolled in the Sacramental Preparation Program.
Adults who have not received this sacrament can register to be a part of the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process by calling the Parish Office at 231.723.2619.
Sacramental Preparation
Sacramental Preparation in our parish for children baptized in infancy or early childhood is a family based process.
Generally, Second Grade and older children are preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Third Grade and older children are preparing to be Confirmed and receive First Eucharist.
Parents are always the best judge of their child’s readiness.
